The GNU FriBidi API is not finished yet, and the design is by no means set in
stone. Right now we are working on a new design for GNU FriBidi, which has led
to a new code base, not released yet. The main goal of this new effort at the
moment is to add support for Arabic Joining/Shaping. One of the main goals as
a GNU project is to be widely used. If you decide not to use it, mail us and
let us know your rationale - design, licensing, indentation style, we prefer
to know.

GNU FriBidi has no required dependencies. The list of projects using GNU
FriBidi is growing and they provide a wealth of examples of using the various
APIs to learn from.
